Spring Fever

As April is approaching us, I’m starting to get spring fever. School is almost out for me, and that means graduation is almost here!! Spring is a time of regrowth. I love seeing the outside world come back to life. The days stay light till around 9pm, bonfires are to be smelled everywhere, and you don’t have a care in the world. Spring also makes me want to clean and get rid of things I no longer desire. I love being able to sell things and have space in my room.

Spring is full of freshness. Flowers are blooming, vibrant colors are to be seen, and summer is on the horizon. I used to not like spring as much, but now it’s starting to grow on me. I have about one more week left until my spring break and I could not be more excited. I’ll be going to Universal Studios in Florida and I can’t wait. Ohio weather is very unpredictable and it’ll be nice to have sun and warm (hot) weather. Ahhh.

What’s your favorite part about spring???

Writing about Writing

I love to write. Obviously. It saddens me when people hate it. Writing is something that is never gonna go away, so you might as well get used to it. And I know, everyone dislikes certain subjects; however, writing, more specifically grammar, is something that reflects on you. When you apply for a job, college, etc. Writing and grammar are always right there behind you!!

But writing can be something fun! Seriously. Try writing about whatever you want, and I promise you it’s not as awful as you think. Writing for school isn’t always fun, understandable. But make the best out of writing. Please don’t hate such a wonderful thing!! There are so many incredible writers out that. I admire them all dearly and aspire to be incredible as them one day.

Some of my favorite authors are:

Charles Dickens

Elizabeth Gilbert

Cheryl Strayed

Ahh!!! Writing is amazing. You should love it, too!! Keep on writing>

Graduation!!!

Ahhh!!! In less than two months, I will be graduating from high school. I’m very excited; however, it is a long process of tying to finalize the smallest details. My check list right now is composed of: college, graduation party, living arrangements, etc. It stresses me out to know that I have to get that out of the way before  I can graduate.

Any tips for graduation parties?! The theme is going to be red and black for my school colors, with black and yellow at the dessert table for college. Did I mention it’s a joint party with my boyfriend? Can’t wait for awkward family tensions!!!

Sorry this post might be a little short, sweet, and to the point. Life is getting crazy again and I feel like I am trying to balance 50 things at once. But life is good. Thanks for reading. I’m hoping to get more poetry posted soon, so keep a look out!!!

Taking it One Step at a Time

This past weekend for me has been pretty mellow. I’ve just been sitting around my house and watching Netflix. Which sometimes, is nice. It’s great to have a break from all the hustle and bustle of the real world. If you are ever stressed about something, take a break. As humans, we constantly want to push ourselves and go go go. Giving yourself some time off can be the cure to most things. Here are a few self-care tips you should try this week.

  1. Take a warm bubble bath. Taking a bath is one of my favorite things to do. Baths can be used with scrubs, oils, and all kinds of soothing extra amenities that will help you relax. Tip: Turn off the lights and burn a candle for that extra ~spa feel.~
  2. Write about it. Writing how you feel whether it be in a journal, a blog, or even a text to a friend can help get things off your chest. It’s good to not allow things to get bottled up.
  3. Go for a run. I know, I know. No one exactly likes this one, but it works. When I am super angry, I book it outside and listen to my workout playlist. I love being on my own and releasing my anger and stress in a positive, healthy way.

I hope you try these tips out this week!!! Make sure to take it easy, and love yourself!! Loving yourself is the important thing you can do.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Life has been stressful lately; however, sometimes looking at the smaller, simpler things can put things into perspective. Life has beauty in everything, and we just have to see it. Even if that may be us squinting while looking look at a microscope.

So here are three positive things that happened today:

1. I had late arrival to school, meaning that all the bells were shortened. And just to make it better, I had a sub in my least favorite class;)

2. I found my prom dress!! Ahh!! It’s black and gorgeous. And only $50!!! Funny how money is usually involved in most situations.

3. I found some old pictures of my mother. She’s beautiful, and it made me realize how lucky I am to have her.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week!!!

P.S

I’m sorry for the short post!! I’ve gotten lots of lemons from life this week.

Spring…. Maybe?

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. And in case you didn’t know, Ohio has the most unpredictable weather out there. Some days it’s warm and sunny in the mid 70’s. And the next day, you can expect snow and rain. I’ve lived in Ohio my whole life, and while I do love having four seasons, I can’t stand the uncertainty of the weather.

Ohio isn’t as boring as a state as everyone thinks. I mean, yeah, we do have nothing but fields for miles and miles and miles and miles and….. well you get it. But Ohio is pretty awesome. We’ve got the three C’s: Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus. We have some pretty awesome theme parks: Kings Island and Cedar Point. We’re home to the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, etc. We’re also famous for music!! Ever heard of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame?

I can’t stand it when people bash on Ohio. I love and hate it, but living here your whole life gives you that right. In the fall, I’ll be moving to Kentucky. Now before you get excited for me, I have to inform you of one small detail, it’s only about 3o minutes away; however, I’m still excited nonetheless.

Life has been good lately. I’ve been writing more!! Yay!!! And I appreciate all the likes and follows from you all. Please continue reading my work!!! I’m always open to suggestions!!!! Let me know what kind of writing you guys would like to see in the future.

Poetry

Hey, all!! I just posted some poetry on my poetry page. Please go check it out and let me know what you think. I’m still working on the formatting of that page, as it’s a little trickier to manage than this one. If you have any tips or suggestions, let me know.

This was just a quick, little post to let you know about my poetry. Please go read it and give it some love. I’ve been writing for awhile and I’ve never had the chance to share anything. Well, I guess posting your writing for everyone to see is really one day to do so. But I’m excited that I’m finally branching out.

Thanks for following, liking, and reading my posts!!!!

Back to Reality

Two days in a row!! I’m slowly rolling back into the swing of things. I changed some things, added another page, and tried to make it more ~professional~ If you haven’t already, make sure you follow me on all of my social media sites so you can be updated on what I’m doing. Fair warning: I’m not that exciting. On my Instagram, you’ll see pictures of me trying to be a lot cooler than I actually am. On my Twitter, you’ll see some of poetry and Buzzfeed posts. And on my Buzzfeed, you’ll see posts written by me. How cool is that?!

I’m not sure if people would wanna see my VSCO? It’s filled with *artistic* photos I take of random things that I think are cool. I promise I’m not an annoying hipster. If you wanna see my VSCO, let me know.

I’m writing this in my school library. And don’t worry, I’m not missing out on anything. I am in study hall. This is what I do most days. I love being in the library. I could write a whole list of why. Hmmm, here they are.

  1. The library is serene and peaceful. Should I chose to, I actually get work done.
  2. The librarian is the sweetest lady ever. She genuinely tries to do the best she can for everyone.
  3. I can print things off that I need (or don’t) for school. Ink is expensive!!!

Well this has been a random blog post. I promise that the upcoming posts aren’t going to be all over the place. I’m just trying to show you all that I  am dedicated to the blog. I thank you for sticking with me throughout this all. Check out my “Contact Me” page for all the links to my social medias and what not. Also, feel free to leave comments. I would love to chat!!!

Where Have I Been?

Ahhh. Okay. Life does this crazy thing where it starts getting really hectic and then things just kinda turn into a snowball. You know? It just gets bigger and bigger. Well, that might be a weird way to re-start my blog.

Hi, I’m Natalie. If you’re new here, welcome. If not, thanks for staying for this long. I write poetry a lot, but never get around to posting it. If you like that sort of thing, enjoy my blog!!!

So anyway. I guess I’ll update you all on what’s been going in my life since I’ve been away. I have two months left in my senior year of high school. Crazy?! I’ll be attending Northern Kentucky University in the fall to study Journalism. I’m excited, nervous, and jxjsncsjdndj all at the same time.

What you can expect in upcoming posts is a lot more writing!!! Haha!! No, but really. I’m going to post lots more of my poetry. Maybe even some essays and articles I’ve written. I also have a BuzzFeed account where you can check out posts/quizzes I make there. All my links will be below.

Thanks for reading!! I can’t wait to continue my writing journey and *hopefully* create top-notch writing for people to read, love, and share.
